Teva's Latest ANDA Draws Fire

Law360, New York (January 19, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Japanese pharmaceutical giant has slapped Israeli generic drug maker Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. with a patent infringement lawsuit in a battle over Prevacid, a drug used to treat acid reflux.

Takeda Pharmaceuticals Company filed suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware earlier this week, asserting that Teva had illegally challenged its patents connected to the brand name drug.

Takeda was joined in the lawsuit by the exclusive licensee of the technology, TAP Pharmaceuticals, which holds the New Drug Application for lansoprazole delayed...
