Law360, New York (May 12, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- StemCells Inc. has fired back at Neuralstem Inc. over the rival's claims that StemCells deceived the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in its recent approval of a new patent related to neural stem cell compositions.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based biotechnology firm filed an amended complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California accusing Neuralstem of patent infringement, libel and unfair competition — two days after Neuralstem accused StemCells of concealing material information from the patent office.
