Law360, New York (June 11, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Japan's largest pharmaceutical company and a French drugmaker smacked Barr with separate patent suits to protect the $428 million annual U.S. market for Prevacid SoluTab delayed-release heartburn tablets.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. and Houdan, France-based Ethypharm SA both lodged complaints on Monday against Barr and subsidiary Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
Barr confirmed Tuesday that it was challenging the patents listed by Takeda unit TAP Pharmaceuticals Industries Inc. in connection with its 15- and 30-mg Prevacid SoluTab tablets....
