Janssen Sues Sandoz Over Alzheimer's Drug Patent

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Two Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries and their licensing partner have launched a patent infringement suit against Novartis AG’s generics arm, Sandoz Inc., after the generics maker filed an abbreviated new drug application for Razadyne, a drug used to treat Alzheimer's.

In a complaint filed Aug. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Janssen Pharmaceutica, Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Synaptech Inc. allege that Sandoz's ANDA falls within one or more claims of a patent pertaining to a method of treatment of Alzheimer’s....
