Law360, New York (November 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- An Illinois state jury has reportedly decided that the surviving family members of a woman who died after using a Duragesic-brand pain-killing skin patch manufactured by two Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries should receive $16.6 million.
The jury in Cook County Circuit Court ruled Monday that Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc. and Alza Corp. failed to inform consumers that the product could leak a fatal dose of fentanyl, a narcotic that is 100 times more powerful than morphine, the Associated Press reported.
