FBI Raids Bristol-Myers Over Plavix Deal

Law360, New York (July 28, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- On the same day Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. learned federal prosecutors were launching a criminal investigation into a proposed settlement involving the hotly contested heart drug Plavix, agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the company’s offices as part of the probe, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

Bristol-Myers disclosed the probe in its second-quarter earnings report this week, saying it learned Wednesday that “the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice is conducting a criminal investigation regarding the proposed settlement of the Apotex litigation,”...
