Abbott Opens Fire On J&J Unit Over Humira Patent

Law360, New York (May 04, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Abbott Biotechnology Ltd. has filed a suit alleging a Johnson & Johnson unit's newly approved drug infringes Abbott's patent for the blockbuster rheumatoid arthritis medication Humira.

In a declaratory judgment suit filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Abbott alleges that Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc.'s Simponi infringes its patent for Humira.
