Workers Seek Cert. In 'Dead Peasant Insurance' Suit

Law360, New York (September 01, 2009, 7:18 PM ET) -- Plaintiffs in a proposed class action against Hartford Life Insurance Co. moved Tuesday to certify a class of all Oklahoma workers whose companies insured their lives without consent — a class that would include employees of JP Morgan Chase & Co. Inc. and American Greetings Corp., among others.

Plaintiffs Melissa Havenstrite, Jonas Havenstrite and Michael Chapman, who lead the proposed class, moved to certify in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
