Law360, New York (March 25, 2010, 12:12 PM ET) -- Two bills under consideration in the Louisiana Legislature would prohibit property insurance companies from canceling or increasing the cost of coverage for homes that contain Chinese drywall.
Republican State Sen. Julie Quinn and Democratic State Rep. Walt Leger III have introduced bills dealing with the issue in advance of the legislative session that begins Monday.
Both bills would block rate increases or rate increases for homes if an insurer finds Chinese drywall, whether or not the residents file a claim.
