Insurers Win $8M From US Over Faulty Ark. Dam Plans

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 3:52 PM ET) -- Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. and several other insurers have won an $8 million breach of contract judgment against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stemming from faulty construction plans for a dam in Arkansas.

The U.S. Court of Federal Claims handed down its decision Wednesday, saying the federal government was liable for not providing the proper concrete mixture to use on the project, but was not responsible for problems with the labor force available in the region.
