3rd Quarter Sees Slight Uptick In Insurance Litigation

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 4:15 PM ET) -- Amid a surge of directors and officers coverage fights, insurance lawsuit filings increased by nearly 7 percent in the third quarter of 2010 compared to the previous three months, according to a Law360 review of federal court data.

The number of insurance coverage suits filed in July, August and September rose 6.85 percent from the previous three months and 5.61 percent as compared to the same quarter in 2009, the data showed.
