Boeing, Chartis Settle Liability Feud Over UK Crash

Law360, New York (January 07, 2011, 2:26 PM ET) -- Two Chartis Inc. units have settled The Boeing Co.'s suit claiming British Airways' insurance policy with Chartis released the plane maker from liability for the loss of a Boeing-made BA airplane that crashed outside London in 2008.

Judge Robert S. Lasnik of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington dismissed Boeing’s declaratory judgment suit against The New Hampshire Insurance Co. and Chartis Insurance U.K. Ltd. on Wednesday, noting that the case had been settled.
