MillerCoors, Nestle, Insurers Sued Over Navy Tech IP

Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 7:25 PM ET) -- Security technology company Network Signatures Inc. filed patent lawsuits in California federal court Wednesday against MillerCoors LLC, Nestle USA Inc. and two insurance companies — the latest to be accused of infringing a patent for computer encryption technology invented by the U.S. Navy.

In four virtually identical lawsuits filed Wednesday, Network Signatures claims the defendants, including New York Life Insurance Co. and Allstate Insurance Co., use a digital verification system for secure communications with employees, business partners, affiliates and customers that infringes U.S. Patent Number 5,511,122....
