Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 1:52 PM ET) -- Allstate Insurance Co. slapped Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. with a lawsuit in Illinois federal court Thursday, accusing the rival insurer of infringing a patent related to customizing insurance policies through its “Vanishing Deductible” products.
Allstate's complaint centered on Nationwide insurance products that provide reductions in deductibles over time, and asked the court for injunctive relief barring the alleged infringement from continuing, as well as unspecified damages.
