Law360, New York (June 07, 2012, 9:20 PM ET) -- With more commercial space launches planned, some insurers are urging the U.S. government to follow the lead of five states and limit the liability of spaceflight operators, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said Wednesday.
Under the Commercial Space Launch Act, passengers and crew on spaceflights are required to waive claims against the federal government if an accident occurs and also sign cross-waivers among all of the parties involved in a launch, according to the GAO.
