Law360, New York (July 03, 2012, 4:18 PM ET) -- Federal prosecutors on Monday charged a former deputy commissioner at the Louisiana Department of Insurance for using his position to steer insurance business from municipalities in exchange for bribes.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana brought a bill of information accusing Richard Chambers Sr., 67, of taking part in two bribery schemes as a deputy commissioner who oversaw the Insurance Department's Minority Affairs Division, which aids small, minority and disadvantaged insurance agencies and producers.
