8th Circ. Told Its Ruling Threatens Subcontractor Coverage

Law360, New York (February 14, 2013, 6:53 PM ET) -- A construction company urged the Eighth Circuit on Wednesday to reconsider a recent ruling for Hartford Fire Insurance Co. in a roof damage coverage fight, arguing that the published decision improperly wipes out coverage under builders policies for damage that one subcontractor causes to another subcontractor's work.

BSI Constructors Inc. is challenging the federal appeals court's Jan. 31 decision that said a faulty workmanship exclusion spared Hartford from covering roof damage caused by BSI's subcontractors.
