FIO Should Outline Cooperation With States, Rep. Says

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 2:01 PM ET) -- The chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives insurance panel asked Monday for monthly updates from the Federal Insurance Office on how the fledgling agency is cooperating with state insurance regulators to form U.S. positions on major international initiatives, including designating systemically important insurers.

Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, requested the regular reports from FIO Director Michael McRaith just weeks after National Association of Insurance Commissioners CEO Ben Nelson complained at a congressional hearing that there's been inadequate communication and consultation between the FIO and state insurance regulators....
