Law360, New York (January 21, 2010, 6:20 PM ET) -- U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to look into the economic impact of removing sleeping bags from the list of articles eligible for duty-free treatment under the U.S. Generalized System of Preferences.
In a letter to ITC Chairman Shara Aranoff filed on Jan. 15, Kirk said his office has accepted a petition from domestic sleeping bag maker Exxel Outdoors Inc. to consider removing non-down filled textile sleeping bags from the list.
