Law360, New York (February 04, 2010, 4:02 PM ET) -- Ratcheting up its assault on Western trade sanctions, China has reportedly turned to the World Trade Organization in an attempt to undo the European Union’s extended anti-dumping duties on Chinese-made leather shoes.
Bristling over the EU’s decision in December to prolong the tariff for 15 months, China submitted a formal complaint to the WTO on Thursday, claiming the EU duties unfairly harm the country’s leather shoe exporters and requesting the organization end anti-dumping duties it says are overtly protectionist, the Wall Street Journal reported.
