ITC Probes Toshiba Patent Claims Against Wistron

Law360, New York (February 22, 2010, 3:04 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to look into Toshiba Corp.’s claims that Wistron Corp. laptop computers infringe Toshiba’s patents and should barred from import to the United States.

The ITC announced Friday that investigators will determine if Wistron has in fact violated Section 337 of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 by importing and selling notebook computers and components that Toshiba says incorporate technology protected by two of its patents.
