Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 7:20 PM ET) -- The U.S. government has cut another check to Liz Claiborne Inc. to put to rest the women's clothing retailer's claims that it paid excessive duty rates on imports of lyocell garments.
Judge Evan Wallach approved the compromise settlement agreement Wednesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, in keeping with Liz Claiborne’s choice to take the $108,000 refund rather than prolong litigation over U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s classification of the lyocell clothing.
