China, Indonesia Coddle Paper Cos.: Commerce

Law360, New York (March 03, 2010, 12:50 PM ET) -- Domestic producers of coated paper have welcomed the U.S. Department of Commerce’s preliminary finding that countervailing duties are needed to offset unfair subsidies received by competitors in China and Indonesia.

U.S. trade regulators issued a preliminary determination Tuesday that certain coated paper imports from China and Indonesia require tariffs to counterbalance the financial assistance and preferential tax treatment the foreign producers receive from their governments.
