GE Healthcare To Pay Up For Export Violations

Law360, New York (May 07, 2010, 6:03 PM ET) -- GE Healthcare Bioscience BioProcess Corp. has agreed to pay $126,000 to resolve allegations that it exported and re-exported bioreactor kits to China, Mexico and elsewhere without obtaining the proper licenses from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The alleged violations were committed by Wave Biotech LLC, a company acquired by GE Healthcare in April 2007, according to a settlement agreement posted on Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security Web site Friday.
