Law360, New York (May 12, 2010, 5:36 PM ET) -- The feud over patents covering hardware and software used in portable electronic devices heated up Wednesday as HTC Corp. went on the offensive against Apple Inc., requesting a Section 337 investigation into Apple's imports of iPhone, iPad and iPod products that allegedly infringe five of HTC's patents.
The Taiwanese smartphone maker lodged a complaint in the U.S. International Trade Commission, alleging Apple has infringed the patents by importing the accused products, which are manufactured in China, into the U.S.
