WTO Launches Panel In China-EU Shoe Duties Spat

Law360, New York (May 19, 2010, 4:37 PM ET) -- The World Trade Organization has reportedly granted China's second request for an investigation into the legality of Europe's anti-dumping measures against imports of Chinese footwear.

The WTO set up a dispute settlement panel Tuesday to examine whether the EU-imposed penalties violate global trade agreements and unfairly harm China, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said, according to China Daily, a state-run English-language newspaper.
