Law360, New York (July 20, 2010, 1:32 PM ET) -- The World Trade Organization has reportedly agreed to set up a panel to investigate Indonesia's claim that an American ban on the sale of clove cigarettes, a major Indonesian export, is unfair.
The WTO has instituted a formal investigation into Indonesia's complaint that the U.S.' ban on flavored cigarettes discriminates against clove cigarettes because of an exemption for similar menthol-flavored cigarettes manufactured mostly in the U.S., the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
The organization will rule on the matter sometime in 2011, the AP said.
