Law360, New York (August 31, 2010, 6:20 PM ET) -- The Chinese government has opened its first anti-subsidy investigation into imports from the European Union, examining whether potato starch from European producers should face countervailing duties.
China's Ministry of Commerce said Monday it would probe the EU imports based on a complaint from the tuber crop starch unit of the China Starch Industry Association. The agency held consultations with the EU on Aug. 23.
