GPX Tries To Escape Cash Deposits On Tire Imports

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 7:10 PM ET) -- GPX International Tire Corp. has asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to force the Department of Commerce to lift cash deposit requirements on tire imports from one of the company's Chinese units and another Chinese company hit with countervailing duties on off-road tires.

GPX argued in comments filed Tuesday that Hebei Starbright Tire Co. Ltd. and Tianjin United Tire & Rubber International Co. Ltd. should be exempt from the requirements because they would put the companies at a competitive disadvantage.
