Oki Didn't Infringe Ricoh Printer Patents, ITC Says

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 5:13 PM ET) -- Oki Data Corp. has not infringed Ricoh Co. Ltd.'s patents in making and selling printing and scanning devices, the U.S. International Trade Commission has found.

In its Tuesday decision terminating a Section 337 investigation into the matter, the ITC ruled that the two patents in question were not violated.

In November, the ITC said it would review an administrative law judge's finding that Oki infringed eight claims of U.S. Patent Number 5,863,690, issued in 1999 and titled “Toner image fixing method.” The judge had also ruled...
