US, Asia-Pacific Trade Talks To Focus On Legalese

Law360, New York (April 01, 2011, 6:23 PM ET) -- U.S. trade officials are continuing negotiations this week over a free trade agreement that would cover the U.S. and countries in the Asia-Pacific region, with the talks to center around developing the legal texts of the agreement.

During the sixth and latest round of negotiations in Singapore, representatives of the U.S., Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam have discussed commitments covering all aspects of their trade and investment relationships, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Friday.
