DOC Wants Importers To Put Down Cash During Probes

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 4:19 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce proposed Tuesday to change the practice of accepting bonds during the provisional measures period in anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations, in an effort to speed up what has become a drawn-out collection process.

The proposal, announced in the Federal Register, aims to establish that the provisional measures during an investigation will  take the form of a cash deposit rather than a bonding requirement.
