S. Korean Transformers Hurting US Industry, ITC Says

Law360, Washington (August 26, 2011, 3:47 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday voted to make a preliminary determination that low-cost large power transformers from South Korea are unfairly undermining the U.S. domestic industry, after domestic producers petitioned the ITC in July.

ABB Inc., Delta Star Inc., and Pennsylvania Transformer Technology Inc. filed an anti-dumping duty petition with the ITC in July, arguing that cheap imports of liquid dielectric large power transformers from South Korea over the past three years have skyrocketed, accounting for 38 percent of all large power transformer imports...
