Eurofer Launches Complaint Over Chinese Steel Subsidies

Law360, San Diego (January 09, 2012, 7:08 PM ET) -- European steel industry group Eurofer has lodged an anti-subsidy complaint with the European Commission claiming that Chinese organic coated steel companies are receiving illegal government assistance, the group said Monday.

Eurofer's Jan. 6 complaint was filed after it brought an anti-dumping complaint with the EC over the Chinese imports in November.

The latest complaint asserts that the rise in EU steel imports from China are the result of massive subsidization and that the Chinese government has offered a wide range of incentives, such as preferential loans,...
