China Slams EU's Anti-Subsidy Probe Into Bicycles

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 3:44 PM ET) -- The European Union’s anti-subsidy investigation into bicycles imported from China lacks significant evidence, China’s Ministry of Commerce said Saturday.

Bicycles imported into EU nations from China account for only 2 percent to 3 percent of bicycles in Europe and thus do not pose a threat to the European market share, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said it would pay close attention to the EU’s anti-subsidy investigation and would take appropriate measures with the World Trade Organization if necessary.
