Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 8:32 PM ET) -- Medical devices distributor RAM Medical Inc. was ordered Tuesday to cough up about $173,000 in fines and restitution and serve a probation sentence for importing and selling counterfeit and contaminated surgical hernia mesh.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Madeline C. Arleo sentenced the Wayne, N.J.-based company to three years' probation in the criminal case over purported C.R. Bard Inc. mesh purchased from companies in the United Arab Emigrates and India, according to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.
