Law360, New York (May 16, 2012, 5:33 PM ET) -- The World Trade Organization’s appellate body on Wednesday found that U.S. “dolphin-friendly” labeling rules discriminate against tuna products from Mexico, saying the provisions in place on tuna imports were inconsistent with international trade regulations.
The appellate body reversed portions of a September ruling by the organization’s dispute resolution panel, saying that U.S. labeling regulations put Mexico at a competitive disadvantage in the market for tuna products.
