Law360, New York (May 23, 2012, 3:47 PM ET) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is issuing a final rule requiring periodic audits of third-party children’s product testing organizations as a condition of their continuing accreditation with the agency, the CPSC announced Wednesday.
The audits are supposed to ensure that an accredited laboratory continues to be competent to perform the testing services for which it has been accredited, according to a CPSC notice scheduled to appear in the federal register Thursday.
