Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 6:16 PM ET) -- China filed a World Trade Organization complaint Friday accusing the U.S. of improperly applying countervailing duties to $7.3 billion worth of Chinese products, including the recently announced tariffs on solar panels.
According to a statement by China's Ministry of Commerce, the U.S. has violated WTO rules in the way it evaluates whether state-owned Chinese companies count as "public bodies" that are subject to countervailing duties. The improperly calculated duties have been applied 22 Chinese products, China claims.
