Another Round Of Iran Sanctions: The Senate Bill

Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 1:21 PM ET) -- On May 21, on the eve of diplomatic talks between six nations (including the United States) and Iran regarding Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. Senate passed the Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Human Rights Act of 2012 (ISAHA). If enacted, ISAHA would impose significant additional sanctions against Iran and Syria. Since the Iranian government refused to make any real concessions in those diplomatic talks, it is likely that ISAHA will be enacted into law in the near future.
