ITC To Probe Boart's Patent Claims Over Imported Drill Bits

Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 3:29 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday agreed to investigate Boart Longyear Co.'s claims that a U.S. distributor and three South American companies are importing and selling products that infringe patented drill bit technology used in mineral mining.

The ITC’s probe comes after mining giant Boart Longyear and its affiliate Longyear TM Inc., both of South Jordan, Utah, lodged a complaint with the commission April 25, according to the ITC.
