Law360, New York (June 01, 2012, 3:20 PM ET) -- A Taiwan-based patent holder that licenses television technology to Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. accused LG Electronics Inc. on Thursday of importing and selling TVs that infringe a patent for integrated circuit hardware.
Industrial Technology Research Institute and its American subsidiary ITRI International asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether LG's liquid-crystal display television sets were using its patented design for circuit packaging that allows chips to transmit more electrical signals without generating excessive heat.
