NJ Assembly Panel Backs Iran Sanctions Measure

Law360, New York (June 14, 2012, 9:02 PM ET) -- A New Jersey Assembly panel on Thursday approved legislation barring the state, local governments, school boards and county colleges from doing business with entities investing in the energy, financial and construction sectors of Iran.

Proponents of the measure say New Jersey should help ratchet up the pressure on Iran over its nuclear program and human rights record and show that the state supports Israel. The Assembly State Government Committee cleared the legislation in a unanimous vote.
