Samsung, LG, Electrolux Hit With Duties On Washing Machines

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 3:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Monday found that imports of washing machines from South Korea and Mexico produced by companies including LG Electronics Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Electrolux Home Products Corp. had been dumped on the U.S. market.

In a preliminary determination, the regulator found that South Korean and Mexican large residential washers had been dumped in the U.S. at less than fair prices, backing Whirlpool Corp.'s claims that duties on the products were needed.
