Law360, New York (August 03, 2012, 2:11 PM ET) -- A pair of treaties designed to remove impediments for U.S. inventors seeking patent protection abroad, signed by former President Bill Clinton but never ratified, would spur innovation while securing foreign intellectual property rights if implemented, lawmakers said Thursday.
Sens. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, introduced a bill that, if enacted, will implement two patent treaties signed into law during the Clinton administration that have been awaiting ratification since 2007, saying these treaties would benefit American inventors.
