Law360, New York (August 31, 2012, 5:01 PM ET) -- Argentina has followed through on its promise to file a complaint against the U.S. with the World Trade Organization, contending that the U.S. has unfairly blocked Argentine meat without scientific backing, the WTO said Friday.
The South American nation requested consultations with the U.S. — the first step in the WTO's dispute resolution process — complaining that the reasoning behind the U.S. import restrictions, put in place for hygiene reasons, is baseless.
