EU Trade Chief Threatens Russia With WTO Cases

Law360, New York (September 07, 2012, 6:30 PM ET) -- Just over two weeks after Russia became a member of the World Trade Organization, a top European Union trade official on Friday threatened to file WTO complaints against Russia over a variety of trade practices.

EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said in a speech in Finland that Russia joining the trade body "is not the end of the road. It is a fork in the road, presenting Russia's leaders with a choice about the direction of their country."
