Law360, New York (September 18, 2012, 4:55 PM ET) -- On Sept. 17, 2012, the Obama administration filed a request for consultations with China on a series of programs viewed as constituting prohibited export subsidies by China to its auto and auto parts sector. The U.S. noted in its request that China provides various forms of export-contingent subsidies through certain established “export bases” throughout China. The U.S. identified 84 Chinese legal measures that provide and support these export subsidies.
