Senate Passes Decades-Old International Patent Treaties

Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 3:43 PM ET) -- A pair of Clinton-era treaties aimed at helping American inventors secure foreign patent protection took another step forward Saturday as the U.S. Senate passed legislation to finally implement the long-stalled pacts.

The upper house voted in favor of S.3486, the Patent Law Treaties Implementation Act, handing the matter to the U.S. House of Representatives, where a sister bill is pending.
