ITC Reveals New Rules To Curb E-Discovery Costs In IP Suits

Law360, New York (October 04, 2012, 5:31 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has issued proposed rules that aim to make resolving patent infringement disputes before the body less costly by placing limits on e-discovery.

The ITC has for the last year been considering proposals intended to make discovery proceedings related to Section 337 investigations more efficient. The new rules, set to be published in Friday's Federal Register, would give administrative law judges the explicit discretion to limit e-discovery requests.
